Location: United States
The Highway Engineer will perform civil engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments.
Projects may include interstates, highways, roadways, streets, sidewalks, open and closed drainage design and traffic related items.
Responsibilities of this role include:
• Project management
• Marketing
• Sub-consultant coordination
• Project/task scheduling
• Civil design
• Plan production oversight
• Preparing cost estimates
• Client interaction
Technical experience should include:
• Geometric design for roadways/interchanges
• Drainage design
• Construction sequencing and traffic control
• Utility relocation coordination
Marketing activities may include:
• Assisting in the production of proposals and letters of interest
• Participation in interviews and other presentations

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Practical working knowledge of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Green Book, the Roadside Design Guide, the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), and the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD)
• Experience with Microstation, InRoads and/or other roadway design software
• Strong communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office
Preferred Skills
• Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects
• Previous experience with H & H design, specifically HEC-RAS
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of employment, or will have the ability to obtain registration as a PE within three months of hire
